Sarah Jenkins Brady was born on 1 Nov 1873 in Hood County, Texas. She was the daughter of King Brady and Susan Harden.

The 1880 Census shows King 51 and wife Susan 36. Children: Charles was 21, Moses 18, Mary E. 10, Sarah 6, Walter Amos 2, all living in Precinct 4, Hood, Texas. King is a farmer. Sometime between 1870 and 1880, Ella C. died. ^[1]

Sallie married James William Mayfield on 21 Nov 1897 in Hood County. ^[2]

By the 1900 Census, Sarah "Sallie" 24 is married to William Mayfield 28. They are living in J. P. 8, Hood County, Texas. ^[3]

The 1910 Census shows William 44, wife Salle 28, and daughter Gladys 5. They are living in Thurbur, Erath, Texas. William is listed as a blacksmith in the coal industry. ^[4]

The 1920 Census shows William 48, wife Sallie 45, and daughter Gladys 14. They are living in Justice Precinct 7, Erath County, Texas. ^[5]
