I was born in Innsbruck, Austria to an English mother and Austrian father. I was baptised on the 28 May 1969 in the Roman Catholic parish church of Hötting in Innsbruck, known as the Neue Pfarrkirche or new parish church. When I was just a baby we moved to Reith bei Brixlegg (now known as Reith im Alpbachtal), a lovely village with a lake for swimming.

My mother and I moved to England when I was 6. I have lived in Weymouth, Cheltenham, Newbury and Ivybridge and now live in Carmarthenshire, Wales. I obtained a degree in Physics from the Open University and an MBA from the University of Bath. I am married and live on a smallholding where we have chickens, sheep, pigs, pygmy goats and numerous pets.

I became interested in genealogy when my mother showed me a family tree handwritten by her cousin, William Goddard Armstrong. He had updated an original tree drawn up by his father, Rev. William Armstrong, Methodist Minister from information supplied by his mother Prudence Eleanor (Coulthard) Armstrong at her home in Beverley, Yorkshire on the 25-26 June 1936.

Digital Afterlife

In the event of my death or that I have become unable through physical or mental inability to continue my work within Wikitree, I place the profiles I manage into the caring hands of my family. If they choose not to continue with my work I pass it to the Wikitree Admin and ask that any profiles, including my own, first be offered to the Leadership and Members of the various Country Projects as there are many profiles in England, Scotland, Australia, Canada, Austria and the United States. Any locked profiles that I manage I believe to contain only information that can be found on the internet, so they may be dealt with as privacy would allow.

It's time for the One Place Studies Project Check-In!

We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.

If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.
