I am unable to merge two Hackettts

Question

I have two apparently (almost) identical John Hacketts: Hackett-1830 and Hackett-74 but am unable to merge them. I am told Hackett-74 has already been merged.  Apparently there is a glitch somewhere. Hackett-74 seems not to have a mother. Can someone get this straightened out?

You merged Hacket-74 with Hackett-1830. So John is his own half brother, also 1830. This is a ghost . I think you just detach John Hacket half brother and the ghost vanishes

Well now if I enter Hackett-74 w'treee goes to Hackett-73 -- a different family!! But no more double John Hacketts!! Thank you!

Hacket-74 would be different from Hackett-74, ie one t or two t’s and might be causing some difficulty.
