Hackett brick wall. Please help.

I am unable to get very far with ancestors or cousins for paternal side. Questioning if I have correct information. Each Tue when I receive the email with notary people, I never have any ancestry for my paternal side. So weird. I do know that my grandfather was Thomas Joseph Hackett 1886-1957 in Isabella County Michigan. I have family tree that was typed up in the 1990s.

Thomas Joseph Hackett's parents are listed as; John Hackett b 1849 in Oxford, Ontario d 1899 in Isabella County, Michigan. Mother was Sarah Moore b 1845 Oxford, Ontario d in Isabella County, Michigan.

John's parents are written as Edmin/Edmund Hackett b 1812 in Tipperary Ireland d 1891 in Ontario and his wife is listed as Mary McNamara or McMahon.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Di,

You have not made any connections to the One Big Tree on the Hackett side.  At the bottom of every profile where you see this weeks connections, each generation up you go on the Hacket side, the numbers get one larger.  So no connections can be found for the weekly email other than via your maternal side.

It looks like you've gotten all the way to Ireland, so you may want to look into help from the Ireland project.

Sometimes, taking the time to add the other siblings helps find a source to lead you further back in time, such as a census that lists parents, etc.

And the other benefit, is it makes it so you might find other cousins...

Good hunting!

This post pinged my interest as my 1C1R Nellie McNamara married Albert John Hackett in Kingswood, Gloucestershire, England in 1939. Far too late to be either of you ancestors, but the McNamaras came from Ireland in the 1840's as did so many suffering from the great potato famine. best of luck with your search :)
