My info was copied from another tree - more than likely an error.  Do you happen to know WHERE he belongs & who his parents were ?  Spouse was Rebecca Miller 1671-1709.

A Joseph Skidmore with a wife named Rebecca, a daughter Susannah, and a son Joseph died in Delaware about 1708.  His will was written April 6, 1708 and can be seen on Ancestry.  Register of wills, book A-D, 1680-1710; F-G, 1725-1730; Miscellaneous wills, 1732-1798 [Wills, 1680-1860; and index to wills, 1680-1948; Author: Kent County (Delaware). Register of Wills; Probate Place: Kent, Delaware].  I found a number of unsourced claims about him, but his will (viewable on Ancestry) seems to be the only actual document.  I didn't find him listed in the American Ancestors database, suggesting he wasn't born or married in New England.

Ancestry also has images of Delaware land records; on July 10, 1702 Joseph Skidmore bought a piece of land from Thomas Skidmore (his brother, according to the will referenced above) for 14 pounds.  The record says that Kent County (where the land was and where they lived) was "one of the counties annexed to the Province of Pennsylvania" so you might also look in Pennsylvania records for this Skidmore family.
