Loking for family members with the Surname Waters, are you family?

My maternal grandmother married a George waters .I think he passed away about 1964 in peoria Illinois.

My Waters family came to north Alabama from central Georgia around 1900. I have several Wlliam Waters's as ancestors. My ggrandfather was a William, but went by Will. My cousins and I have had difficulty tracing the family before they moved to Georgia. Some evidence points to South Carolina.

My 4th great-grandfather Archibald Waters was born in Ireland and married Ruth Hathaway after he came to the US. Her family line is originally from England. They lived in Pennsylvania and my direct ancestors in the family moved onto Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and now I live in California.

My Grandmother is a Waters. Her family is from Cork, Ireland and later from Herfordshire, England. They emigrated to Virginia in the early 1600s. Early paternal names in my direct line include John, Edward, William, Thomas and Philemon. William Gerden Waters moved to Spartanburg, SC in the mid-1700s and  his son, Bordroyne and his son, Westwood were born and lived there. Westwood Lynch Water's  son, Henry Chiswell, moved his family to Lee County, MS  including his son, Marion Lester. He married and raised a large family including my grandmother Julia Pearl Waters. Some relatives still live in the area.
