Unusual email from private message on Wikitree

Question

I have received a second email today through the priviate messaging on Wikitree.  I have not responded as it looks suspicious and might be something nefarious.

"Hello, you got a nice profile and I really like your profile and I feel it would be nice to get to know you more better. Here is my email address: xxxxxxx I have something very important to discuss with you privately.  hope to hear from you soon.  (Name:xxxxxxxxx)"

 I guess it is something to expect when making one's personal tree public and open for all which I do for my family and extended family and for future generations. I just wanted to give a heads up to keep an eye on such emails.

Actually, I have to retract that about being cousins. unfortunately.  There isn't enough evidence and looks like my Jennings connection to Channon is probably erroneous after delving into Rootsweb articles.

That is why the matching is still useful, it has prompted better searching and sourcing.  If you have Colonial Ancestors I am sure we will find match sooner or later.  Maybe after you update you new direction.

Hi James, These type emails are spam. The Greeters and WikiTree Team are aware of the profiles, emails and the profiles are being blocked and deleted as we find them. You can forward the emails to info@wikitree.com to be dealt with if you should get any more of them. Then delete the email(s),
