Your right this does not pass the smell test. Also the grandson of this Hugh is Hugh Beauchamp b. 1050. According to the Medieval Lands webpage on English family his ancestry is unknown. His wikitree profile shows his father as Walter son of Hugh. This line might need some work.

And according to WikiTree, Hugh's father was married to his mother's sister.  Shocking.

However, it's only a genealogical airport novel.  None of it happened.  Hugh can be left to the Non-existent People Project.

Husband unknown.  Supposed to have had a daughter Josceline who married a Montgomery.  Don't ask me which Montgomery.  WikiTree backs all the horses by having 3 Joscelines, though I guess there was only the one really.

with his real son, Humphrey of Vieilles, spelt the French way, and his real wife, another sister.  Or maybe the same one with a different name.  WikiTree's Wevia looks more like Aveline.
