Looking to confirm Marie Marguerite Comeau's parents (b abt 1730 Acadia) [closed]

I had this posted in comment on the Acadian Volunteer request, but thought I should post separately.

I'm looking for confirmation that Marie Marguerite Comeau (w/o Louis Rousse dit Languedoc) is the daughter of Francois Comeau & Ann Lord.
-PRDH does not have parents for her or a marriage record just bef Dec 1752 in Acadie
-There is a record of a d/o Francois Comeau & Ann b. 1733 in Beubassin.  The notes I have for Marie Marguerite gave her birthdate as about 1730.
-I believe there is a mention of this connection in Bergeron, Le Grand Arrangement, but its not proven.  (Does anyone have access to a copy?)
-The first record the PRDH has of Louis Rousse & Marguerite Comeau is 1755‐09‐19 at Notre-Dame-Quebec for the death of their son Louis (age 3)
-This is my maternal line, and my mtDNA would be consistent with this theory.

I've gone ahead and connected Marie Marguerite's children to the existing Marguerite Comeau, but with and unconfirmed status.  I believe that the Acadian records around that time are not great, so I suppose that I may never know for sure.  Any ideas on where I should look next other than the PRDH?

Thanks!

Thank you for looking.  I have the the baptism record for Marguerite d/o Francois Comeau and Ann Lord.

The problem is proving that Margerite is the same Marie Marguerite who married and had children with Louis Rousse dit Languedoc.  I haven't found a marriage or burial record that might contain her parents.
Thanks.  Louis was from France not Quebec.  I'm not sure where the information comes from, but the PRDH lists their marriage and the birth of their first two children as in Acadie.  I'm only just learning Acadian history, but it looks like they ended up in Quebec during the expulsion?

I've looked at their youngest son's death record in the parish register, but its very difficult to do more than make out the names and dates.
I have looked at all of the Comeaus in the Port Royale Records up to the Expulsion. Only one child,  Marie Anne is listed as b. in 1725. I sent you her info previously. That is odd as it is 30 years before the expulsion! Where are the other children? Acadie is a very large area including Maine, New Brunswick, PEI Nova Scotia and Cape Breton (Isle Royale). Can you match BDM info with parish's? I suspect Rousse may be De Brousse which may change you search parameters. I took a quick look at the family group on WikiTree. The sourcing is mostly transcription and private files, very weak;  Francois is a very common Acadian name very susceptible to mismatch. Sorry not much help!

George
Thanks for all your efforts.  There are several Francois Comeaus who married Lord's so it is tricky.  All of the birth dates on the children in the PRDH comes from marriage & death records, not baptisms.   So the only original records found from the pre-expulsion would be their marriage 1724 in Port Royal, birth of Marie Ann 1725 in Port Royal, and birth of Marguerite in Beaubassin in 1733.  Not sure where they were but I guess I will just keep looking.

LDS in their International Genealogical Index has about 8 listings for Marie Marguerite Comeau / Louis Rousse and a number of their children. It states they were from Chipody; {now Shepody, New Brunswick}. They all appear to be family genealogies so I am not sure if any would have proper sourcing. https://familysearch.org/search/collection/igi/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3A%22Marie%20Marguerite%22~%20%2Bsurname%3AComeau%20%2Bspouse_givenname%3ALouis~%20%2Bspouse_surname%3ARousse%20%2Bsubcollection_id%3A5&igi=(1 2)

Good luck with your search. I spent many hours completing my wife's Acadian genealogy. It is a challenge with the similarity of names and nicknames.

Thanks.  I do think those are all estimates based on other records.

In looking online at inventories of parish registers. I think that the records are missing for the areas/time periods I need.  No records for Chipoudy, and that there are gaps in Beaubassin for the periods I would be looking for (1724-1731, 1736-1739, and then after 1748).

Also available as microfiche #6087649, Family History Library. Includes transcripts of Beaubassin, Acadia church registers, now at the Archives of the Mayor of La Rochelle, Charente Maritime, France; Source published by Karen Theriot Reader, RootsWeb.com; p. 30
:Text: Marguerite COUMAU, daughter of Francois COUMAU & Anne LOR, baptized 12 Apr 1733 at Chikpouty. Sponsors: Pierre VAINIEN & Marie COUMAU (Beaubassin Register).

I added this to the profile for Marguerite Comeau but the birth date on this source is different from the one that is marked "certain" on the profile. I did not change the profile.

Thank you!  I do have the original which I will add as a picture.  But great to have the published dates noted, even if not correct.  I don't suppose that Acadians in France had anything on a marriage to Louis Rousse Languedoc?

As I noted, the source was published by Karen Theriot Reader [[Reader-22]] who mostly works on Rootsweb.com, though she is a member of Wiktree.  [http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=katheriot&id=I3326 Marguerite Comeau].

I don't have access to this source but it can be viewed at a Family History Library on Microfilm.
Jacqueline - I had transposed the month and day when entering the profile. Collaboration is a wonderful thing.  Thank you!

Chickpouty is actually La Baie de Chipoudy. It is at the entrance to the Peticodiac River which is just a few miles from Beaubasin. It appears Francois and Ann may have moved there from Port Royale

In Stephen Whites Dictionnaire Geneologique Des Families Acadians I see Francois Comeau m Ann Lord 22 Feb 1724 but there is nothing on their family.  It does however indicate he died Quebec 1758
