Greetings Acadians!
Acadian Project leader and long-time WikiTree member Roland Arsenault requested emeritus status from his duties as co-leader of the Acadian Project. While we will miss his steady guidance, we wish him well in his personal pursuits and look forward to his return when he is able. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Arsenault-64
This left my head spinning as the Louisiana Project co-leader had done the same only a few months before but I still love her! Thanks Liz!
Last week, though, a former co-leader and another long-time WikiTree member, who had also taken emeritus status, let us know that she would be excited to return to the Acadian Project. She began her duties last week and we are so happy to have her back with us. Congratulations Lianne and thank you for stepping up! https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lavoie-74.
Two projects that have become more active recently which are already helping our Acadian Project are Project:Quebecois
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois and French Roots https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/french_roots. We may finally break through some of our brick walls with our early Acadian emigrants from France.
If you haven't taken a look at our project page in a while, please browse here. And while you are here, please update your member entry and let us know what you are working on. We love to hear from you! https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Acadians
Another handy link you may have forgotten about is our naming conventions. We use this to determine which way a merge should go when there are variant surname spellings. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Familles_Acadiennes.
Best Regards and Best Wishes for 2018,
