How valid is this information to replace what I have from Hoffman's book, "Our Kin".

Are the claims made in Heyl-33 regarding pioneer Peter Heyl and family any more valid than that written by Hoffman in his book?  How can it be certain that what Hoffman wrote is any less valid than points made in Heyl-33?  Just trying to ascertain the lineage most acceptable - realizing research is just that, and researchers are doing best possible given the information available.  Please advise.

The profile for Johann Peter Heÿl (Hoyle) at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Heÿl-203 is thoroughly documented with original sources and evidence explanations. Mr. Laban Hoffman did the best he could in the early 1900s with the limited sources he had available then.

What about the Elizabeth Rucker “Hoyle book”? It clearly lists “Pioneer Peter’s” parents as Adam Heyl and Nancy Leister, who are themselves traceable all the way back to the early 1500’s. Don’t see any reason why the Wikitree version is any more valid. I have based years of my own family research on Rucker.

As you indicated, research by rookies can lead to errors.  Mr. Hoffman pulled erroneous information from Rucker's research.  My Granddad knew our maternal side to be Susanna Catharina Müller, not Dales or Diehls.  See detailed research at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Heÿl-203.  Peiter's father is Michael  (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Heÿl-192); his grandfather is Jürgen Heyl IV (https://www.geni.com/family-tree/people/Jürgen-Heyl-IV/6000000008073938550); and below is information from Find-a-Grave as it pertains to the wife of Jürgen.  I have not pursued the Leister connection as I think it was incorrect. I will however include it in further research.
