If you do a search on Scotlands,OPR. Using only name Janet Hagart,

There is a marriage too Robert Menzies.April 25 1745.Kenmore,Perth.

You can order marriage record and it will have more info, what he did

and who there parents are.But not always.Menzies may be a transcription

error,or Menzies could evolve too McKenzie

There are only about 3500 records that have survived pre civil registration 1855.  A very good site for information comes from the National Records of Scotland and what you can expect to find (at best) on OPR records.

Scottish proclamation of banns.

The banns (or notice of the proposed marriage) were proclaimed in the kirk before the congregation on three successive Sundays in case there was any impediment to the marriage. If the bride and groom lived in different parishes the banns were proclaimed in both although not necessarily on the same dates. As a result you will often find two index entries for your marriage search as the proclamation of banns were recorded in each of the respective Old Parish Registers.
