We are direct Blankenship descendants from Ralph: son Richard, grandson Peter Sr., g-grandson Peter Jr., gg-grandson Jesse, ggg-grandson John W., 4th g-grandson Francis Marion, 5th g-grandson Robert Lee, 6th g-grandson Everett, 7th g-grandson Fisher, 8th g-grandson Carl, 9th g-grandson Charles.  Our y-haplogroup is J-L317 and we are very interested to compare our y-dna with other Ralph Blankenship descendants.

You should compare with the Wingo Y-DNA haplotypes.  They are in or around the same haplogroup J-L25, which is just above J-L317 on the tree.  The Wingos probably tested before  FTDNA tested for J-L317.  Perhaps the Wingos and the Blankenships share a common ancestor somewhere.

Lynzey,  I am researching the Worley line that is out of Henrico County.  I noted Ralph Blankenship's name in a Worley DNA database and then saw your post here in WikiTree.  I have noted that Ralph's haplogroup is inconsistent with all other Blankenship DNA.  However, his DNA is a strong match to my DNA!  That wouldn't normally mean much but there are meaningful pieces of information to indicate that we MAY have a common ancestor.

*  The Blankenship's and WORLEY's both lived in Henrico Co at the same time.  In 1734 Martha, Ralph's widow, owed land right next to John Worley, my distant ancestor.

*  My WORLEY's moved to Rutherford Co, NC around 1790.  The Blankenship's can be found in Rutherford Co by at least 1810.  One of the Worley sons had instead moved to Bedford Co.  two of the Blankenship sons also moved to Bedford Co.

*. My WORLEY's moved into North Georgia in the 1820's and a few moved into Polk Co, TN before 1860.  At least one family of the Blankenship line was also in Polk Co, TN at the same time.

I think the above info points to a possible relationship between our lines.
