Did you notice the new e-mail formatting in private messages, comments, and merge proposals?

Hi WikiTreers,

The next time you get an e-mail with a private message, profile comment, or merge proposal, you may notice that the message from the person who sent it now has its original carriage returns.

That is, it used to be that someone would write this:

I just wanted to say hello.

Bye,

Joe

And you received this via e-mail:

I just wanted to say hello. Bye, Joe

Fixing this has been requested, I don't know, 50 times here in G2G. Sorry it took so long. :-)

If you see any problems with the formatting please post here. There is such a wide variety of ways that people can read their e-mail.

If there aren't any serious problems we'll apply this fix to the other e-mail types, e.g. Trusted List request and replies, forms, etc.

Onward and upward, one little step at a time,

Chris

Thank you for the constant improvements Chris.  This one works well for me.
Ah... Sigh of relief. Thanks, Chris.
Yay! I just got a private message that would have been impossible to read without the line breaks (16-generation lineage - even had the indents!).

Thank you SO MUCH!!
Such a "small" change, but such a huge improvement!! :-) Thank you!
THANK YOU Chris - Please also apply to text when we award a Badge to someone - when awarding the Project badges sometimes this NO format system makes for a very-hard to read email.
Sorry

for

the

delayed

response.

This

Improvement

is

most

welcome!
Thanks, all.

Chet, comments on badges are a little different because they're meant to be small. Maybe you could give me an example where they need the line breaks? What badge?
Thanks that really is a big improvement :)
