Email from WikiTree

Recently I have received several emails from different individuals  (about proposed merges or questions about a profile) that do not appear to come from WikiTree as they always have in the past.

Previously when I received inquiries they have come through the WikiTree system and cite the profile the sender was using. The senderʻs email would be in the email so that I might respond.

The recent emails do not appear to be in the format of a private message. Have I missed notification of some change in the way private messages are handled?

I received one email today that came through the Private Message system as usual and another that only had the identification "Sf" in the sender area and a short message about a proposed merge.

If you respond to a private message from your email then the sender now has your email, so perhaps these are individuals that you have corresponded with in the past.  If you don't want someone to have your email address you can post your reply to their inquiry on their profile as a comment.

I know that. I always respond to emails by going back to the individuals profile and sending a private message. (With the exception of a cousin or person I recognize.)

These emails have come from people I do not know and have never corresponded with in the past.

The most recent were from PMs (I think) of profiles I have proposed for merging.
