How do I handle a possible orphaned related person?

Hello,

So I have come to a major block on my biological father's side of my family tree. I am being told that both My grandfather on my father's side as well as my Grandmother where orphans, how do I manage to get more information? How do I find out their information? I can not ask my Biological father as he is no longer living and wouldnt have told me anyways. Is there some national database or some sort of registry for orphans? If I am not mistaken I believe their parent's where here in the USA but its possible that they where not. I am told I am sicilian italian but I am not sure where to even remotely begin to find information on them. My mother's side I was closer with, so I have more information and more to go off of. Any help on this would be great along with any ideas of what to do or how to go about this would me amazingly aprecaited!

Do you know where they lived/died? Dates? Check for death certificates, birth records. newspaper articles. I would start with the location check newspapers in the area.

I have their lived and died areas and dates but the problems the birth records and things like that because they where both supposedly orphans.
Even as orphans the records should show parents info.
