What to do - 34-day-old proposed merge not responded to by either manager but doesn't appear in pending merges.

There are two proposed merges (husband and wife) that are holding up the merge of a third (a son of theirs). The husband is Lewis-3344 and Lewis-440. The wife is Lynn-86 and Lynn-386. Both proposed merges are 34 days old, and no profile managers have responded to either. Managers for both of the son's profiles (including myself) have approved his merge, but it cannot be completed because the parents' merges are still pending. The son's two profiles are Lewis-2333 and Lewis-17027

At the same time, (1) neither of the parents' proposed merges shows up in a search of pending merges for the respective surnames, and (2) if I go to the parents' profiles and try to complete the merge from the pending merges under Matches and Merges, all I get is a message that the two profiles are already connected in a proposed merge. It's a circle that goes nowhere.

Why aren't the parents' proposed merges showing up in a search of Pending Merges even though 34-day-old proposed merges are listed on the profile pages? Why can't the proposed merges be completed from the profile pages? And how can we get the son merged seeing as approvals have been received from both of his profiles?

This sounds like a technical issue. Recategorize this question for WikiTree Tech.
Thank you Ellen. I changed the category on the original post. If I don't hear anything in a few hours, I'll copy and post it as an entirely new question in the WikiTree Tech category.

I looked at this a little closer. The merges are still in the queue, for example, here's the one for Margaret Lynn Lewis. I don't believe it's a technical problem. Rather, it's a problem caused by a technical peculiarity of WikiTree.

The merges were proposed 34 days ago, but it looks like the default-approval clock was reset about a week ago when one of the profile managers approved the merges. The merge will get default approval in early December.

Thank you very much for looking Ellen. I guess the reset also explains an even odder thing. Earlier today, I had also gone to Find: Pending Merges: Limit to Surname: and entered "Lynn", and I got the message "This Lynn list is empty. Yay!"

In the pending merges list, the default is merges waiting for action. To see merges not yet ready for action, you have to select "all pending merges" in the top row of options.

Now I am really puzzled. When I tried two days ago to do the merge of the son, William Lewis, WikiTree said the duplicate profiles for his parents had to be matched, merged, or rejected first. Things then transpired as described in my original question. Now, just today, someone else merged the son, but the parents' respective profiles still are not merged! There seems to be some inconsistency here. I'm glad William's merge has been done, but in the future ... should I, and can I, just ignore messages about parents' duplicate profiles when completing a merge to which managers of duplicate profiles have agreed?

I don't like it when that happens. It happens because people don't realize that when you merge two profiles that have different sets of parents, you will be "orphaning" one set of parents.
True, but thankfully there are already proposed merges for each parent, so hopefully they will all get sorted out come December.
