Help with Unmerged Match : Linn-1943 and Linn-2018

I am the profile manager for Linn-1943, for which a merge with Linn-2018 was proposed on 31 Dec 2023.  They share a wife and both died in Georgia, though years of death differ by 3.  The biggest problem is that 1943 was born about 1815 and 2018 about 1780.  When the merge was initially proposed, I set it as an unmerged match and pointed out that the birth date had to be resolved first.  The profile manager for 2018 (Lynn-3316) has not responded and, as far as I can tell, has not been active since 2021.

With that large a gap between birthdates, I would say that they are father and son, rather than two profiles for the same person.  Did you do the research to resolve the different birthdates? Why wait for the other PM?

You have two options:
1) Go through the Unresponsive Profile Manager process, adopt the newly-orphaned profile, remove the Unmerged Match, and re-propose the merge.  As you will now be the PM for both profiles, you can complete the merge
2) Remove the Unmerged Match, re-propose the merge, and wait 30 days for it to default.

It turns out they are two different men, and the one born in 1780 is the one in the 1839 marriage record I had previously thought, because of dates, was the one born in 1815.  I've removed the unmerged match and will correct the profile for the one born in 1815.
