Parents of Mary Bird

Question

I am looking for the Parents of Mary Bird born in Halifax county, North Carolina. She married Benjamin Griffin in 1799 in probably GA. Any help will be appricated.

Hi Warren:

Are you sure that Polley Bird Griffin was born in North Carolina? In the 1850 US Federal Census, Polley - as head of house - indicated that she was born in Virginia. I believe their first child was born in VA. (Is there a Halifax County, Virginia?)  The family removed to Georgia around 1800. And eventually Alabama.

This one website said that she was born in North Carolina. This other one said that she was born in Virginia. There is a Halifax County, Virginia and a Halifax County, North Carolina.

Mary "polly" Bird was born in Halifax VA 1784--death May 11th 1856

she was the wife of Benjamin Griffin 1772-death March 13th 1836

Benjamin is my 5th grandfather via BYRD Griffin

looking for Benjamin Griffin --parents

which I think are David Anthony Griffin or Anthony David Griffin

fyi Benjamin and polly graves are by my house at the griffin cemetery

Bird the 1st is buried next to my house --40ft from the back under a cedar tree with Alsira
