Looking through the Jamaican Parish and Civil registers on Family Search and Ancestry it appears that Augustus Charles Bancroft was actually born Augustus Charles Bancroft Espeut  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VH67-7G5 and he was the son of Peter Alexander Espeut and Marianne Augusta Bancroft.

In 1887 he married Sarah Elvira Henriques in Portland, Jamaica and they had quite a few children. I can't find any other marriages for him in Jamaica, but that is not to say he mayn't have fathered other children there. If was fairly socially acceptable of men of his social class in the west Indies to have children outside of marriage. This might be where the Shaw connection comes in.

Thank you. Let me double check on any relationships besides Sarah Elvira Henriques and Mary Elizabeth Shaw. On the birth certificates of my three aunts and uncles that born in Panama the grandparents listed are Augustus Charles Bancroft Espeut and Mary Elizabeth Shaw. My DNA tests reveal DNA connections with other members of the greater Bancroft family with the DNA connection stemming from Augustus Charles Bancroft Espeut, my Great Grandfather. Recently deceased 1st cousin 1X removed Janet Bancroft told me the double agent spy story is true confirmed within the family. Released British records state Benjamin Franklin's valet was a British agent double agent spy. American PBS Benjamin Franklin special confirms this story as well.

My GEDMATCH kit numbers are:

Thanks again, Benny

George:

Thank you.

From Ancestry.com DNA tests and then personal outreach, I learned that I have 3rd  cousin relationships with a Ricardo Shaw and a 3rd cousin relationship with an  Edgar Shaw.

The detective mystery continues. I would really love to see any documents mentioning the name Jamaica born I believe Mary Elizabeth Shaw, particularly  birth certificate or other documentation such as a marriage certificate or something else tying her to Augustus Charles Bancroft Espeut.

I am also registered in the following GEDMATCH kits

TP8525641

TK5471441

QP2135376

NS6977201

QY1048826

MP6555585

Thanks again.

I have an Alice Lopez Shaw (1870-unknown) married to Alfred Herbert Wilmot Shaw (1866-1945) in my tree. One or both are from St. Ann. Their daughter, Nora Gwendolyn Shaw (1904-1993) was married to my grandfather. I didn’t search any further. Hope this helps.

To both Rodriques & Benny Garcia,it seems to me that there must be connection between the Alice Lopez Shaw mentioned & my ancestors. For one thing, the fact of the existence of my great-grandfather Alexander Lopez and his wife,Anne Elizabeth Shaw Barnette, aka Ann Eliza Shaw.

I am unable to find Mary Elizabeth Shaw in my tree.

It seems there are many, many, many Shaws out there. I remember my mom once telling me that they owned a place called Shaw Park in St. Ann’s Bay, St. Anns, Jamaica. It is telling too, that my grandfather died in St. Ann’s Bay even though he and wife (Nora Shaw) lived elsewhere on the island. Here is some information on Shaw Park with yet another surname thrown in, that of Walker, Shaw’s son-in-law who inherited the estate. It’s enough for a One Place Study! https://www.raremaps.com/gallery/detail/34466aj/a-plan-of-shaw-park-estate-in-the-parish-of-st-ann-county-maclure-macdonald-lithographers
