One of our England Project members, Neill Reed has been working away in the archives of the Royal Society of Musicians. He came across a volume of photographs of members of the society and they gave him permission to use them on Wikitree profiles. This started him off on an immense project of collating enough information from their archives to genealogically identify the people in the photographs. After compiling a table with all this information, he gained the help of England Project members through March’s England Project challenge to create, source, complete biographies, add relatives and ultimately connect as many of these people as possible to our shared family tree.
We are proud to announce, that all 254 members of The Royal Society of Musicians whose photographs were in the album now have wikitree profiles (before we started, only 28 had been previously created). Of those, a staggering 226 have been connected to the tree. Congratulations to Neill, to Fran and Carol who organise our monthly challenges, and also to the 32 England project members took part in the challenge this month. We are proud of you all and proud to be a part of this wonderful team.
