Request assistance categorizing WWII service and where to place image sources

[[Atkinson-8061|John Atkinson]] Is my father. I am going through his papers and have located some original copies of documents relating to his WWII service as a Pilot Instructor in the Army Air Corp. I'm aware that many WWII records were lost to an archives fire.

1. I'd appreciate help categorizing my father's WWII service as appropriate.

2. As I find other documents related to WWII service, where might I put images to be of most use or interest to other researchers? Some items may be interest to see: one item is his Tobacco ration card. He saved his folder with lots of stuff. I note that the copy of the original orders I have found so far (image posted to his profile) lists names of others also ordered to report. I regret I have only found that first page. One name on the list, Joseph L Blotner, remained a close personal friend of my Dad's  and is notable as the biographer of author William Faulkner. This event was how they met.

Please advise. I'm not focused or knowledgable about WWII / Military stuff. Thank you.

I have two suggestions for how to proceed.

The first option involves simply uploading the image, which can then be attached to multiple profiles. This allows people to come across the image while browsing.

Alternatively, a more effective approach would be to create a space page. A space page functions like a profile page, but is dedicated specifically to certain topics, as you mentioned, that are not profiles.

You can upload the pictures and attach them to this space page. If you've already uploaded and attached some images to his profile, there's no need to upload them again; just attach them to the space page.

It would be helpful to include any information you know about the images, and then you can categorize the space page appropriately, such as [[United States, World War II]]. This will facilitate easier discovery for anyone browsing profiles from that era.

If you're unfamiliar with space pages, you can find more information here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Free-Space_Profile

Jimmy gave good advice. What I can add is that if you need some help figuring out unit names, I'm here for that. :-)
