Newt Wilson-114622 ... my brickwall ancestor: Alexander Wilson

Hello!

I am a Newt here but have been on the quest for some years. I am very stuck on my grandfather 4 times removed and I am hoping for info/pointers/etc. I hired a professional last year, but we weren't able to find him. Here is what I understand to be true:

Alexander Wilson (or Willson), a likely farmer, was born in the state of New York sometime between 1790 and 1805 and died between 1838 and 1850. He could have lived in Belmont, Fredonia, Whitehall, or Windham (NY). He married Mahala Whitcomb between 1820 and 1825 and they had seven children. If he would have just lived to 1850 to make the census it would have been easier to find him...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
