The father of (Josephi) Andraea Helmstetter, Franz (Francisci) Helmstetter was born before his son and married a woman with a given name of Gertrude (Gertrudis).

His marriage likely occurred in Germany, 1768 +- 10 years. (1758 to 1778.)

His birth was around 1730 +- 20 years. (1710 to 1750.)

Josephi Andraea Helmstetter lived in Gerlachsheim, Baden, Germany, so it's possible his father at least passed away in Baden.

The Latin forms "Josephi", "Andreae" (I think) and "Francisci" are genitive cases to indicate "of Josephus", "of Andreas", and "of Franciscus", respectively.

What I can say is, that there is Helmstett in Germany. The spelling varied over time.   So maybe in Helmstett town archives there is something to be found about families bearing that geo-related surname ?

Check the original wedding records of Joseph Andreas for statements about his origin. You can see them in Family History Centers of LDS.
