Family Search Census Links

Question

For a couple of years I've used links to Family Search for Census links. FS now requires a login to access the records. Is there an alternative/workaround?

I've noted similar questions regarding Ancestry. For me the issue is not about a paywall, it's about a consistent way to get past the login.

I think FamilySearch has always required a login to view a record hasn't it? But recently (because of security concerns) they have made it so you have to login more frequently.

I don't know of a free site with no login for US Federal census images. In the UK there is FreeCEN but that is transcriptions only and doesn't have full coverage AFAIK.

Rob is correct. We used to have to renew our log-in every two weeks to FamilySearch.

If you're looking for a way to link to a U.S. census record that doesn't require a login, Archive.org has them:  1790-1930 U.S. Census Records Available Free.  There's no index, so it's most straightforward to find the record of interest on FS first then use that info to track it down on Archive.org.  It takes time but can be done if you're persistent.

Family Search has required a login for several years, it's still free and has a multitude of records including the US censuses.
