Does anyone know how to get my links back on my FS pages? [closed]

ALL of my FS pages have lost their links!!! I can't open or edit any of them; there is no links nor is their an edit tab to access the pages. All my images are gone on my image FS page. How do I get my stuff back? I have even lost all the links & the ability to access my tables for the 95th Bomber Group.

It gets better! I tried to put the link into my tables so you could see that it was just static & was informed that FS page doesn't exist?!?! Does that mean that I have lost ALL my work? I can access none of my FS pages; they are ALL like this. I tried logging out & back in, but that didn't help the situation.

I don't even have the ability to edit my own profile. I can't access ANY profiles!! Does this mean that I can no longer participate on WikiTree?

Hi Pat. Putting the link for a free-space page into the URL field in a G2G question has known issues if the page title contains punctuation. Instead, just paste the URL of the page you want us to look at into a comment on your question.

I see you have just now edited one of your free-space pages. Has the problem gone away by itself?

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your response. The problem seems to be my FireFox browser alone. It's like I am not logged into WT despite logging out/in, closing & opening windows, clearing cache, restarting my computer, making sure all apps/exts/browser is updated.

Chrome & Edge work fine so I can work from there, & have been, it's just relatively new to me as my preference was FF.

I don't know what the issue is. It's like I'm not logged into the Tree. I know everything is there, because I catch a flash of the "normal" to me page, but then the "no editing" mode kicks in covering everything up behind its wall. Any advice would be appreciated but the Emergency asspect in this instance has been lowered from "OMG, I CAN'T EDIT MY PAGE!!!" to "there's this bug in my browser & I don't know how to deal with it."

As for the message I got here from the g2g edit checker when I 1st tried to make that post, I had a link to my Bombers tables page showing I had no links, but when I hit send, I got the error message that page didn't exist. THAT was a little worrisome. I guess that's all part of whatever the browser issue is. Any ideas would be appreciated.

At least this issue waited till after the Thon to decide to glitch! LOL!

Pat

Sorry Pat, I don't know. To hazard a guess, it sounds as if Firefox might be discarding cookies while they are still needed. I presume you are not using private-mode browsing. Does Firefox on your system have any settings to do with clearing out cookies? If it does, check that that mechanism is not turned on for WikiTree. (I'm thinking here of a recent report of a less serious problem where Firefox may have been discarding cookies.) If there's any kind of ad blocker, also make sure it's turned off for WikiTree.

LOL!!! I'll tell you what the problem was; Reader Mode was toggled on. I never mess with toggles & switches for fear something like this will happen. Must have been a last Hurrah! from my sleep deprived Thon brain!
Yay! I'm glad you got it fixed, Pat.
