Transcribing love letters.

I just noticed a news article on the Australian ABC news site about a request for those who can read cursive writing to help transcribe war love letters at the Australian War Museum Archives.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-02-14/australian-war-memorial-love-letters-project/103458880

Thought I would share.

Yikes, we already need to advertise for those who can read cursive.  Those of us with the ʻskillʻ should volunteer to do this or lots of history will be lost.

Oh, AI will learn to do that I suppose.
Hmm, with all the horrendous hand writing and cultural style variations and spellings over the past 1000 years or more, my guess is AI isn't going to be any better than humans.

Awesome Sauce!

Thank you for sharing. As I have completed transcribing this type of thing before, I have now joined up to do this. It will help keep this old lady's mind and hands busy too.

Cheers
