For those who have been patiently awaiting the much-anticipated arrival of WikiTree's newly revised Global Project, your wait is almost over! Just two more weeks until launch! This massive project will be unlike anything else currently offered on the Internet. I hope you're as excited as I am!

As promised, the New Global Project will provide links to project pages for all 197 nations of the world. Many of these have already been "adopted" by volunteer coordinators who are actively working on preparing their individual projects for launch. If you are interested in spearheading a country project yourself, be sure to drop me a note telling me what country you are interested in, so we can discuss details.

More good news: Beginning January 8th, Betsy Ko and I will be hosting a YouTube series we're calling The WikiTree Global Showcase. Similar to our prior Global Tour Wrap-Ups, this series will focus on a different, often-underappreciated nation of the world each month, but with an important new element. Each episode, we will use our selected nation and related profiles to show viewers how to complete a particular research task such as "How to find sources for countries not found on Anecestry or Family Search" or "How to interpret non-Western names and how to enter them on WikiTree." This series will be geared towards new and experienced members alike, so you won't want to miss them!

Stay tuned for my New Year's Day message which will have all the links and other information you will need for both the New Global Project and the WikiTree Global Showcase. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there!

That sounds like a fantastic concept David, especially the YouTube wrap up shows. Explaining proper and reliable sourcing from every part of the globe is likely to help out a lot of folks - myself perhaps most of all!

Thanks in advance for all the hard work that is inevitably going to be intertwined with this project.

Sounds good, looking forward to learning how to find the records outside of ancestry and family search. You Tube videos are a great idea.
