Hi All, I'm seeking information regarding British subjects who may have been born, baptised, or married in the colonies which eventually became British Guiana.
1. Are there any vital records available from these colonies? And/or are they likely to have been re-registered upon the subjects' eventual return to Britain?
2. In the sources for [[Wilson-109900|Mackenzie Wilson]] his birthplace in 1806 is described as what I assume are various mis-spellings of Berbice, including "Island of" Berbice. Does the "Island of" bit mean anything to anyone?
3. Can anyone advise on what the "correct" full name of this location would be in 1806 terms? British Guiana wasn't created until 1831.
