My great-great grandmother Susan Lorimer (Lorimer-702) was born in 1850 in Georgetown, Guiana to a Scottish engineer Robert Scott Lorimer (Edinburgh, 1818-1878).
What we don't know is who Susan's mother was?
I found a record of her father Robert's marriage certificate to Emma Plant in 1863 (not Susan's mother), and then he marries again when Emma dies shortly after childbirth.
Is there any way of finding out who Susan's mother was without actually going to Georgetown, Guiana to look at the birth records?
(Interesting fact; Susan was the mother of six children including Henry Watson Dodds, born in Georgetown, engineer on the Titanic, who died when it sank in 1912).
