Looking for information concerning WILSONs, who I believe were brothers, born in Pennsylvania from 1805 up to 1814. The four I know of were Richard (born around 1805), J.G. (born around 1806), Hughes (born around 1812), and Milton (born around 1814). According to various census records, Richard, J.G., and Hughes were stone masons, and Milton was a farmer and plantation owner.
Richard is found in the 1850 census living in Pickaway County Ohio, married to Mary ???? from either Maryland or Mass. In the same census the couple has six children: Mary J. (16), Effie C. (14), Charles H. (12), Lydia A. (9), James M. (7), and Thomas R. (5).
Sometime before 1860, at least two, and according to family lore three, of the children were moved to Concordia Parish, Louisiana to live with relatives. The relatives were Milton, who is listed as head of household in 1860 in Concordia Parish (planter) and J.G. and Hughes, who are listed as stone masons.
James M. is 18 in 1860 and is listed as an overseer living with the "brothers." Lydia A. was married in 1860 and living with her husband J.E. Rourk in Concordia Parish. Family lore states that Charles H. was also moved to Concordia Parish, but I have been unable to find him on census records.
James M. married Pinkney Virginia Montgomery sometime before 1870, and they had several children, one of which was my great grandfather Thomas Milton WILSON.
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Will Clifton
