I need to change the research subject's name from my own (I should be administrator) to my earliest ancestor. How do I do that?

I think this is what you are looking for.

Thanks Herbert. But the issue is, I am the profile manager-- (I misstated "administrator")
It isn't clear what you want, Larry.

Is there a specific wikitree profile to which you are referring?
All the better Larry.  The answer is in the link I sent.  Go to the profile, click the Edit tab.  You can change whatever you want.

Edit to add:  If your earliest ancestor was born before 1700, you might need a pre-1700 or pre-1500 badge to make the changes.
When I originally signed up, I mistakenly put myself in as the subject of research. The real person I wanted was my earliest ancestor Marmaduke Kettlewell. He should be the subject of profile Kettlewell-35 with myself as his profile manager.
As an active member, you have to have a profile of your own.  That's Kettlewell-35.  If you create a new profile for Marmaduke, you will be attached as PM automatically.
That part cannot be changed, because you NEED a  profile in order to add and edit profiles.

What you do to "fix" it is - create a profile for him.  You will be Manager.
Add a new person profile to add Marmaduke.  It is recommended to add profiles for your parents, then grandparents, adding sources as you go, to make sure you have the sources to prove the person.  Until you add the ancestors between, he won't be connected to you anyway.
Okay. And thanks to all. I think I have it now. You've all been very helpful.
If Marmaduke was born before 1700, you will need to be on wikitree for a while and get certified as Pre-1700.  If he was born Pre-1500, you would need to be certified for that time period also.
