I searched a couple of sources including Fold3 and all I have found is the Pension Index Card. His wife or current wife is different from the one listed on his Wiki profile. I'll add to his bio.

Thank you. There are two wives mentioned at his FindAGrave memorial a Elizabeth Wood Earl and Nancy Jones Boorn. Does the pension mention any of the two connected at his memorial?

He died at age 33 a bit young. I couldn’t find an obit

Yes. Nancy Patch was his widow and is on his Pension Index Card and the Special Veterans Census 1890 . She was born Jones, married Earl, then Patch, then Boorn.

According to the Michigan Death Records, Eli Earl died at 33 of Delerium Tremens. He was a saloon keeper. If you look at the list of battles he was engaged, I can imagine I'd take to drink as well!

Looks good  I’ll look it over. The father Daniel Earl has no sources? It appears his father died at age 30 a pattern here?

Edit: his battle engagements Like Cold Harbor and Wilderness etc., were some of the highest battle casualties in the War!

Eli Earl's brother, Royal, was in the Civil War and an incredible story was told about him in the Earle Family Genealogy. I'll post it tomorrow.
