Challenge of the week: Improve orphaned profiles

Hi WikiTreers,

Will you join our "Data Doctors" Challenge of the week?

Once again, Aleš has come up with something to help us work together on a category of profiles that need our help. This time it's "orphans," i.e. profiles without Profile Managers.

Here is the table of orphaned profiles that could use some TLC.

Here's how to help. On the table, click on a number you see in the "Open" column or the column for the century in which you feel comfortable working, e.g. 1800s or 1900s. It doesn't matter which suggestion row you pick, e.g. "No dates on relatives" or "Father is too young." For this challenge, the individual errors and suggestions are just starting points that lead us to profiles that are likely to need help. When working on an orphaned profile, we don't just address individual suggestions. We look at the whole profile and try to improve everything we can about it before moving on to the next profile.

Will you join us?

If you're participating, please post here to let us know. It's nice to cheer each other on. Or post if you have any questions about how to participate.

Thanks for helping!

Challenge is active.
When do these challenges start and stop? I would like to get more involved with some of the challenges, and add the item to my jToDo List and/or Calendar. This past week was fun.
When new weekly suggestions are published. That is usually late Monday or early Tuesday (UTM time). If you follow data_doctors tag, you will be notified.
Do they end on Sunday or Monday? I did a bunch on Sunday that didn't get counted, so I'm wondering how to distribute my time when I get involved with a weekly challenge. Thank you.
We are not doing any counting on the DD challenge. It is just a weekly theme to focus on. You don't really need to stop when a new challenge begins. If you prefer you can continue on the previous one.

I have to say, the first few I've tacked have been a bit discouraging. Several are based on "first hand recollections of <family source>" with no other source information, or broken links to some Ancestry tree. Making some progress, though - RootSearch is able to help with some of them.
Don't be discouraged Jim - just know that every improvement matters for the health of the tree and these orphans will be better off after you have finished.

Try to add them to a category and then they might also get picked up again soon by those who search categories by region, or challenges that focus on "needs birth record" for example.

You need to remove your email from your post, there are scammers and bots everywhere!
