FamilySearch Community Level 1

Question

I just received an email from FamilySearch, or FamilySearch Community, that says I have been promoted to Level 1.

There was a non-functional link to log in to FamilySearch Community.

I logged in FamilySearch and there is a link for FamilySearch Community. I could find nothing about this, however, a number of people did ask questions about the same thing, but there were no answers.

Does anyone know what this is about?

Is there any value to it?

I'm behind on reading my FS email, but I got it too on May 12. When I clicked on button it took me to the FS login page. When I logged in, it said there is someone else with same user name.

I closed it out, pulled up new tab to log into FS acct, nothing there about "Level 1" stuff, finally had to Google about it .. and it brought me here.

I'm guessing, since it seems that people that got the email are saying the login is going to a beta link, FS was probably testing something and accidentally sent out an email.

I had seen this earlier, at which time there were fewer comments.

It does seem there was an error somewhere by someone. Nothing from FS as of this morning.

“Promoted to Level 1” remains a mystery. I’ll hold off celebrating my “promotion.”

Hi everyone. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We figured out what happened. Last week we changed one of the settings in the Beta Community, which is a testing site that we use before anything gets launched here in this Community. That change triggered a mass email that we did not know was going to be sent. We are still exploring why the email was sent and who got it. We are so sorry for the confusion. Please disregard these emails or any others that direct you to the Beta Community.
