What did I do wrong to create two profiles of the same person when I only added that person once to my family tree?

Steve Harris -Harris-5439 says they have yet to be merged.

I tried to merge Daniels-9794 & Daniels-9793 this time because it said to reverse the profiles, 9794 came before 9793, it says, which doesn't make sense. It looks like this didn't work either. I can save the draft but I can't complete the save. It won't let me. There's also an Ayres jr. with my step Grandmother which I never added messing up my Ayres II with my original Grandmother. These don't merge either. I won't be adding any more of my ancestors to my family tree because I don't really know how all this works. Thanks anyway for the help.

I see you were able to complete the Daniels merge. It will get easier here. Don't get discouraged. I was a long time genealogist but all this code and stuff was so foreign to me. I asked a lot of questions and for a lot of help in the beginning.

I initiated the merge for you on Daniels. Now you should be able to complete it.

II also initiated Warren Ayres merger. On that one, once you accept it will ask if you are sure that Ayres is the correct last name at birth. It is because Ayres II-1 has the suffix in the last name at birth. There is a field for the suffix.
