New member introducing myself

Right now, I am a new member just introducing myself

I don't have a question to ask right now. I am looking for more information on the brother of my Grandfather, Joseph W. Campbell my Grand Uncle. Born August 1856 in Adair County, Kentucky, USA. That's all the information I have on him. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I am the Great Grandson of Joseph Green Campbell and Margaret B. Willock of Casey, Kentucky. My Grandfather was born John R. Campbell in 1858 but changed his name to John M. Basey when he was 27 before joining the Army for 30 years. He had one son, Elmer Joseph August Basey, my biological father. I was born Steven Joseph Basey but when my mother remarried to Alfred E. Waters, he adopted me and my name changed to Steven Joseph Waters. I am retired and living in Salmon Creek, Clark County, WA

Thank you Chris for your contributions to my question. Yes, Anna "Annie" E. Wilson Campbell is the spouse of a Joseph Clarence "John" Campbell born 14 Aug 1856 and died 27 Feb 1940. His son is Forrest M.Campbell married to a Bertha Bowlan. Thank you for that information. My concern is that this Joseph might not be the Joseph W. Campbell in the census pages and Kentucky Births with John G. Campbell and Margaret B. Willock as his parents. Reason is what Family Search did and I don't know "why", was detach him from parents on record in Kentucky births Adair County "no name" on Nov.1856 to a Family Tree on their site of James Monroe Campbell and Harriet Black as his father and mother. These are the sources that I have right now. Check it out for me if you got the chance and thank you for your help. It's been 8 months since you answered me, so I hope you are still there. Welcome aboard, Steven!

Looks like you have made a good start on your family branches. Do return to the profiles you have created and add biographical details and sources. That way you can create a fuller family history story. You might also find clues about your grand uncle.

If you do have questions about a specific profile, please link to the profile and add the surname and location tags to the post. That will get the attention of members with experience in those areas.

Good luck with your research and enjoy your journey into the past!
