Question

We decided to make Ask Aleš - What Do You Want To Know About WikiTree Plus? a monthly event. It will be hosted on the first Wednesday of the month. So see you on Wednesdy, December 7, 2022, 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Great idea, Aleš.  Thanks for doing this.  I assume you mean 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time rather than Daylight Savings Time?

Thanks. I corrected the time zone. I am not that familiar with the US time zones. I know them for Europe.

I'm curious about the report generation frequency.  Is there a schedule?  I'm thinking primarily of the cemetery list but really the question is broader than that.

Due to lack of the questions, I will probably show some details for Cemetery reports.

Cemetery reports

• WikiTree Cemeteries: Lists all Cemetery Categories.
• FindAGrave Cemeteries: Lists all FindAGrave Cemeteries with wikitree profiles linked to them.

Perhaps at a future session I would be interested in what percentage of the database is checked for suggestions. I believe I heard that recently edited profiles are all included, but only a portion of the other profiles appear on the suggestion reports. I think the unconnected and unsourced and Wikitree+ search everything.

Unsourced are those with either Unsourced template or category. If a profile has no sources, it isn't included in reports unless it has template or category.

Wkitree+ only shows suggestions that were generated and included in other reports. It won't show different suggestions, not otherwise reported.

Yes, I understand that. I think suggestions are only run on the active part of the database each week which is what I was asking about.

This is in distinction to Wikitree+ which I think searches everything, which means unsourced and unconnected are looking at the entire database, but suggestions are really only for a subset.

Edited to clarify -- https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Automated:DD_Suggestion_List_NLD currently has a total 2497 in suggestions 131-134, but the search country=netherlands b0 d0 (which I think is close, but could have marriage dates) is currently 3075. I think the difference is because suggestions are not run on all profiles, and I would like clarification on this.

Hi Aleš,

A WikiTree PM has created over 9,000 unconnected profiles, all split into tiny trees. I can identify them by using a WikiTree+ search; and sorting them by creation date helps put them in the order the trees were created. But a lot of them were joined to existing unconnected profiles, which means I have no idea how big each tree is.

I would really like to try and connect the biggest trees first, so is there any way of identifying them.

For my own unconnected list, I can use Find, then Unconnected People from my profile page, and then select sort by ‘most connections’, but there doesn’t seem to be the facility to run this for another PM.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.
