Help to resolve issues with profile

Question

Help I have tried to improve the Biography to a Profile Limming-11  I have written a brief but informative sentence to all subjects in example Baptism, Census etc but when previewed does not come on the list of contents , Does not show Sources or citations. I have been with Wikitree for several years and am trying to create a much more proffessional profile to Wikitree standards. This is the first time that I have had such problems , I have tried to delete and start again  but this does'nt work either . I am not an expert with the use of computers but am learning.I will be very grateful of any help on this matter.

You had all your "inline" references beneath the Sources header and <references /> tag, so I moved them.  Sources/citations will not show if there are any <ref>tags</ref> beneath the Sources header and <references /> (which should not be separated by even a blank line).

You also had all your headers at level 2, when all of them except Biography and Sources should be level 3 or 4, so I corrected those.

You had your "inline" references "floating" away from facts, so I moved what I noticed when in edit mode (but I see after saving I missed a few).  You'll need to align those citations with their statements, which will tidy up the look.

I wasn't sure what you intended with the links to FamilySearch person IDs, so I left those alone.

Thank you so much for sorting this ,Everything went haywire since turning on the enhancement edit button. left it all in a bit of a mess to try and sort out. I will look into it another day to tidy it up. Once again a big thank you.

One more thing it's up to you if you want to help me But i am trying to find the Father of Carter-34497  According to my unsourced family tree was a William Carter born circa 1662 and married Jane Hollowell circa 1680 in Northamptonshire His Father was Jame Carter who married Anna Schofield.

Have searched all sites and there is no trace anywhere and am unable to proceed until I resolve this issue . Otherwise my family history goes as far as 1550 to another William Careter [Carter] married Elizabeth?

 I understand if you don't want to help as you have already helped me, Just thought I would be a little cheeky on this .

I would say, based on the baptismal record for a John Carter, on the 29th September 1678, in Irchester, Northamptonshire, that his parents were more probably John Carter and Mary ?

More than that I could not tell you.

(I updated his marriage date to that from the records.  The date that was on the profile was one of the readings of the Banns, and did not match the source stated.  I also removed duplicated text, and headers, and removed the <ref>tags</ref> from beneath the Sources header.)

If I were you, Andy, I would ask the question about Carter-34497's father in a different thread. That way people who can help with that will see it. If they open this thread, they may not see that question and just assume you only wanted to know about formatting and move on.
