Help required

Question

Help needed I have been asked not to create any more profiles until I master the profile style which I am working on.

I fully understand this request, however I would also like to research my family history.  I have a bare bones un resourced family tree going back to 1550 and would like to research in depth some errors have been found with spouses . There is a list of some 50 or more names and each time that the relevant details are put into a search there are no results, I expect the odd time for this to happen but not every time, I am beginning to feel there is a block on this activity to prevent me from adding profiles. I do not wish to add any further profiles until Wikitree is happy to allow me to do so.

All I intend to do is continue my research and to make notes until I can add profiles.  am sorry if this message seems hostile in any way there is no intention to have any hostility toward anyone .

Andy I've just had a look at the profiles and most I've seen seem ok, one is a problem Joseph Carter  and since there are THREE Joseph Carters all born at roughly the same time and THREE people making alterations I think it has become very mixed up!! There is one born in 1770 but the other two are born 1780ish. WHO are the parents according to your tree (since you created the profile) btw one Joseph Carter says he was born Guatemala in the 1851 Census (which I am not sure is correct I'd like to see the original but don't have Northamptonshire just Lancashire).

Hi Andy,

Have you discussed your searching difficulties with your assigned trail blazer? You may also like to discuss with them the option of working on some of your own family in the required time periods.

Learning the ways of Wikitree can take some time, which is why many of the projects have started introductory activities like the Orphan Trail. We want people to have fun at the same time as doing good genealogy! Once you've completed the trail you will have all the skills of searching, sourcing and creating great biographies at your fingertips. However it is important you communicate with your Trail Blazer.

I'll have a look for marriages name and dates might be handy?

Just had a quick look at one profile John Carter should his date of birth be 1802 or 1842?

Date showing as 1842 until you read the bio and its 1802?

If you are looking for Joseph Carters marriage to Elizabeth Reynolds it shows 27th Oct 1801 Wollaston, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, England - Its WAS on Familysearch I went into the changelog and it saying Familysearch 2012 but there's no link attached  which suggests it's been removed and is behind a paywall (annoyingly) I checked Freereg and not on there either.
