I find this on ancestry with no notation:

Jacob Shaver, Son of William and Catherine Shaver was the only one of the Family to continue to use the Shaver name. He is listed in the county records under the Shaver name. His childern all used the Shepherd name. He married Anna Maria Clapp daughter of John Phillip Clapp.

Jacob died before May 14,1829. Thats the date his wife was alloted her dower.

Thanks for answering. I occasionally get rather  foggy on the many family relations in this area of

N C. It is a very historical area, which dates  from early 1700's with  the Clapp family, Fogleman, Shepherd, Greeson, and Shoffners

All had  very large families.
