Can anyone verify this van Eps birth?

My ancestor William Edgar van Eps was thought to have been born in Schenectady/ Glenville area of New York State on 31st October, 1858 to Parents William van Eps and  Jane A Dawson.  However, on a passenger declaration into Canada in 1922 he stated he was born in Quebec. Is there a NY record of his birth?

As it happens, my dad knew and engaged with Dawson Van Eps, in Schenectady.  He was a neighbor, on Front Street, in Schenectady.

I would be interested in expanding the ancestry of this family friend.
I am happy to help although I don’t have too much information. Let me know what you need.
Small world, eh, Mark?
It appears, from the family search tree, that John Dawson Van Eps is the nephew of Edgar.  The 1880 Census lists David Mathias Van Eps, as the brother of Edgar.  The 1910 Census shows John Dawson as the son of David Mathias Van Eps.
Thanks Mark, you have been busy.  There are also the van Eps family pages which have photos, family members and genealogy dating from 1600’s.  The van Eps were quite the pioneering family.  What I don’t have is proof that William Edgar was actually born in the Glenville area.  There is a suggestion he was born in Quebec.
