Macdonald-2949 - born Inverness, Scotland, 1906

I found some information on this ancestor on his fathers gravestone.  It seems he died on 14 June 1929 and was buried in Karori Cemetery, Wellington, NZ.

The cemetery staff kindly gave me a few details.  Mainly that his address was given as S S Middlesex.

Can anyone tell me how I could find out more about this ship and the voyage during which my Grand Uncle took ill?

Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply.  I don't think that can be the same William Cameron Macdonald.  He was born in 1906, so would not have been 72 in 1951.

Hello Carol,

The following New Zealand Government site should be able to help you obtain the death certificate for William. http://www.dia.govt.nz/Services-Births-Deaths-and-Marriages-Family-History-Records?OpenDocument

If you need records from Scotland the URL to use is http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

Also the ship records/ passenger lists or manifests could be held at either the national archives for England or Scotland.

All the best

Billy
