Trying to trace my great grandfather whose son John Grant was born in 1875 Inverness area. John's mother was Ann Cameron

John had ten children and his wife was Margaret Cameron. They married at Drainie church in 1895.

Alexander Grant and Annie Cameron on John's wedding certificate, their wedding being 1867 but cannot find a birth certificate for John Grant whose middle name was Cameron. I think he was born 1874 /75. He died at Cawdor in 1960. Why would he list Alexander and Ann as parents if not so?    Wanted to confirm I have thie correct Alexander and Ann before doing more research as I would like to find out if John had any siblings.Thank you

There were probably many Grant's from Inverness,

My father was William George Grant born in Ross Shire near Inverness in 1901. He was the son of George William Grant and Margaret (Douglas) Grant.

George William's father before that was Simon Grant married to Ann McDonald.

This may not be of any use, but I hoped it would twig something.

There is a John Cameron Grant born in 1870 in Rescobie. I know the date and location are different to what you were thinking, but it might be worth purchasing the image of the record on Scotlandspeople just to see if it might be the one you are looking for.
