Was this child born in New York or Vermont

Cynthia Prindle's profile lists her birth place as Little Hoosack, New York based on the home address of her mother.  However the report seems to be registered in Manchester, Vermont.  Is anyone familiar with 1779 records to establish one as fact.  Or is this a transcribed reference from some other source?

The record referenced is just an index to the vital records.

Without access to the Manchester records it is difficult to be sure. The birth was registered in Manchester but in that time period, Vermont towns typically required a family to register all births (including location) after they arrived. An example in my line is https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939V-3F33-6Z?i=3336&cc=1784223 which would lead you to believe born in Woodstock, Vermont but he was born in Middleborough, Massachusetts. The mother's residence might indicate that was the birth location but there is no consistency in the index cards that would make it definite. I would lean toward the New York location.

I don't see Manchester records on FamilySearch for that time period and New York is just a problem all around. You could narrow it down if you can find a first reference of living in Manchester.

An additional thought is that the distance between Little Hoosack and Manchester is close enough that the mother could have gone to Vermont to be with her mother or other familly for the birth.
Manchester seems to have 3560 records on film.  At ten at a time I will never get to the end.  F/5 doesn't cooperate for me
(if this is the shortcut for finding)  Another problem is Vermont
records being original is that printed forms like this one were probably not available to towns in 1779.  Yet in 1855 census it lists Vermont as birth place.  Anyone for darts?
I wasn't seeing any from the right time period.
Thanks.
I am also having trouble with VT records. People have to remember that Vermont was almost considered a Red-headed step-child before the Civil War. Vermont was also once a free country of it's own for a short period of time during a rebellion. I can't remember the source off the top of my head but while I was researching Cyrenus C Black I read this about the State of Vermont.
