Help figuring out trust list

In the managing tool I replaced myself yesterday as profile manager with another family member, after this I assumed that they were removed from my watch list but they where not. I went to some of the profiles to see if I was still on the trust list but my name was no longer in the trust list for several of those individuals I had transferred. I thought it might take some time to update so I checked this morning and there was no changes besides that my name was back on the trust list for the individuals I checked.

I imported all my research to Wikitree last autumn, and that resulted in my trust and watch list to contain too many people, I had to clear my lists out to be able to import it all, then again to participate in the EuroAristo project as I was handed some profiles to edit. This means all the profiles that is of living people are stuck in my watch and trust list because they can not be orphaned, yet they won't show in the bulk trust list, and in the manager tool the ones I handed over was grayed out since I did not have managing rights anymore. To remove myself from the trust list I had to have the new manager remove me from the trust list via their bulk trust list tool, the alternative is to manually go to every profile and remove myself from their trust list which is extremely time consuming.

I guess my question is if the individuals you once removed from trust list that is still on the watch list can be restored? They are evidently still on my trust list just not showing. And also, whenever I use "select all descendants and/or ancestors" to me or someone I'm adding/removing from trust list or as manager does not work, the one all the way in the top, not the choice after a profile, it never marks anything in the list. Is this disabled, or is it just broken? It would make life so much easier.

Thanks.

Hi Antonia.

There's a lot here, maybe multiple questions. To focus on the one: "I guess my question is if the individuals you once removed from trust list that is still on the watch list can be restored?"

You may be misunderstanding Trusted Lists and Watchlists. See http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Trusted_List and http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Watchlist

Briefly, the Trusted List is the list of members with full access to a profile. Your Watchlist is the list of profiles where you're on the Trusted List.

Whether or not you removed someone else from the Trusted List of a profile has no connection to your Watchlist.

Hopefully that helps clarify some things.

The thing is, when I replace myself as manager with someone else on a private profile, I am "downgraded" from manager and trust list member to only trust list member. Yet these private profiles is not listed in my bulk trust list. I assume they once where, but not after I cleared it out. So my question remains, can those be restored in bulk trust list, so I may better and easier manage them? Or can I only reach them individually via the watch list?
That's right, if you replace yourself as the manager of a profile, you are no longer the manager of the profile. The other person is.

In the future you can choose a different option on the Bulk Manager Tool. Instead of "replace yourself," use the "add another person as a manager" option. That way you won't be removed as a manager.

As for "these private profiles is not listed in my bulk trust list" -- if you have removed yourself as the manager, you won't be able to use the bulk tools to manage them anymore.
Clarifying question, Chris:

Are you saying that the tool for making bulk changes to Trusted Lists only works for profiles we manage (vs. profiles where we are only on the Trusted list)?

Thanks.
I think the question has gone a bit off topic. I know the different tools and I know that in watchlist it shows all profiles I'm on the trustlist off (basically subscribed to) even if I'm not the manager. That the managing tools only show profiles I'm the manager of. But the bulk trust list should logically show all the profiles to which I am a trust list member, which it doesn't. Even if it's what Chris says, that it will only show the ones you're the manager off, it doesn't explain how profiles (unlisted, private, partly private) I am profile manager to is not showing in my bulk trust list.

Perhaps I am completely missing an important component, but it doesn't seem logical that living people can be removed from your trust list since you can't abandon living profiles and will remain on their trustlist (and as manager) until you find a replacement. THEN you can remove yourself from their trust list.. but only manually, as the profiles are missing in the bulk trust list tool.
Antonia, for clarity, what URL are you on when you're on the "bulk trust list"?
Great. Now, after trying it, what is your question about the bulk Trusted List changes tool?
Why does it not contain all the profiles I'm on the trust list for?
What's an example of a profile that's missing? If you give me the WikiTree ID I will investigate.
Well I was right about there being an obvious missing component, you can't remove yourself from the trusted list on a profile that is private unless there is a second manager. Makes sense, I guess I expected there to be a grayed out tick box for those profiles you could not remove yourself from. Like it does on the manager tool. Instead the profiles are just excluded from the overview/list.

The original reason for me asking was because:

1. I replaced myself as manager on my fiancé's family members with his account, then they were greyed out in my manager tool.

2. I went to one of the profiles to check if it had worked and it only showed him as manager and no one else on the trusted list. (Weird because I obviously still had access to the privacy tab on said profile.)

3. Next day I checked again and I was in the trusted list for said profile.

4. I then went to trust list tool to remove myself, but the profiles were not in my list, no profiles with his surname what so ever.

5. He logged on and removed me via his trusted list, so I was obviously on it.

Hence the asumption that there might have been a bug of some sorts, hence the confusion about how the system and bulk manager tools work. But I attempted it now to troubleshoot it, and the profile i tested with is still in my trusted list after I replaced myself as manager. So I can't reproduce the problem. I guess it was a one time thing, or perhaps it just bugged out by having myself replaced as manager on so many profiles at the same time.
