Hej/Hello,

I understand that Beata Sophia was born out of or before wedlock. I understand: (below her mother’s name) “father ... Adolph Gumelius from Degernäs in Carlskoga socken” and the witnesses are below that. My question is what does it say about the father, Adolph?

Tack så mycket/Thank you very much!

Agreed, and his surname is rather given as Gumælius.

It google translated to: “The father stated the use of Inspectors”

Could someone please explain that to me? Inspectors for what? laugh

I need to be a little more confident in my skills, because that is exactly what I thought it was, but I just do not understand what they are saying.

Thank you both!
The father was said to be the "bruksinspektor" AG at Degernäs in Carlskoga [today spelt "Karlskoga"] parish.

A "bruksinspektor" is an inspector for a "bruk". So what is a "bruk"? At https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Swedish_Genealogical_Word_List the translations "foundry, mill, iron industry" are given.

There is some discussion (in Swedish) about what a "bruksinspektor" did at Anbytarforum at https://forum.rotter.se/index.php?topic=129736.0 . (Anbytarforum has discussion topics for very many occupations.)
Thank you, Per! I really appreciate your help. Thank you for the links. I did not catch the æ in his name tho!
