Thought - add a check-mark column to the WatchList where PM's could indicate work-still-to-be-done?

If something like this could be added it would cut the need for added free pages, work lists, etc. and cut down on problems caused by the poor memory (who, me?) of the PM's who work SO hard (yeah, me!).  Thoughts and discussion please.

Elizabeth,

One method is to use personal categories.  This is a simple way to keep track of profiles that you need to work on.

If you have not worked with categories here is the explanation of how to set up a personal one.

Personal Categories

More information on categories set up and use is here.

Thanks, Philip.  I'll study both of these in the next day or so.  Your input is much appreciated.
I love personal categories for this! Not only can I group them as needing work, but I can add them to my lists of what KIND of work it needs. That way I can do several at a time when a particular mood strikes!
We actually created a whole tool for this, the custom to-do list. I'm not sure how useful it's proven for people.

(From your Watchlist, click the link near the top of the page to create a custom to-do list.)

Your question made me think.

What about just changing the privacy of the profile.  Open (green) when not completed and open to trustlist only (yellow) when completed.

Perhaps the reverse, if anything. Personally I wouldn't use the privacy settings this way because it will make identifying duplicates enormously difficult.

I've got a spreadsheet I use for keeping track as well as task lists in my genealogy software.
Guy -  Thanks for your input.  I try to stay away from the privacy area as much as possible but I have made a couple of changes.  I'll review the info on this.  Your help and time are much appreciated.
Rosemary - Thanks for your reply.  I've used a spreadsheet but I don't like separating things from one place to another and would prefer being able to do it all at WikiTree.  I appreciate your help!

Elizabeth,

Have you tried a to-do list? From your Watchlist page, click the link near the top that says "create a custom to-do list".

Chris -

Yes, I've looked at it.  I don't know why "it" doesn't draw me as a usefull tool, though.  For some reason I just keep seeing check marks next to my WishList.  DUH!

Thanks for reminding me that studying this option could be just the answer.
Another great tool to explore - thank you Chris and thanks to the tech team. In the one year I've been here, WikiTree has evolved so much! Change is one definition of life - and WikiTree is certainly viable, growing and developing. The mind boggles at what it will be like in 2064.
