DNA

My interest in Daniel and Charlotte's family is from a set of triangulated matches (chr 5 24cMs 158-172) between my maternal aunt(s), their 4th cousin who shares William Clinton and Jemima Parker with them, and a descendant of Daniel & Charlotte's William and Sarah (yes both of them).
Also triangulated at the spot are two descendants (fourth cousins to each other) of another Essex family, that of Thomas & Susan Pledger
There's also a shared match to my first cousin (no segment data available) to a descendant of another child of Daniel and Charlotte, Robert Uz.
So somewhere there's a connection between these three families, keep an eye on my brickwall page for William and Jemima Henderson-2297 13:10, 24 August 2019 (UTC)

Research notes

Are John Daniel baptized 1806 in Waltham Abbey to John & Sarah, and the Daniel shoemaker in Hackney who emigrated to Australia one and the same person

Also see added comments.
My (Lorna's take on them being one and the same comes from:
UK census data links all of Emma, Robert Uz & William to Daniel, shoemaker, and wife Charlotte
Although the 1841 shows Daniel as born County, ie Middlesex, the 1851 census does show him as born Waltham Abbey
This connects Daniel to the potential baptism of John Daniel at Waltham Abbey of an age.
The link between Hackney shoemaker and Australia comes via the Emigration records (now added above) compared with locations in 1841 and 1851 census.

Has anyone figured out who the witness William Blackaby was at Daniel and Charlotte's marriage?

Can anyone find the birth record for son Robert Uz Blackeby? It should show a mother's maiden name.

Is John Daniel (Blackaby) Blackeby (abt.1806-1883) the same person as Daniel Blackeby (abt.1806-1883)?

Many family trees on the web have Daniel married to Charlotte PEGRAM (as for this profile above). However, my own family, and others on the web, believe Daniel the shoemaker who died 1883 in South Australia was married to a Charlotte ROGERS.

I have outlined some of my many questions in the Research Notes at Daniel Blackeby (abt.1806-1883).

Are these two Daniels one and the same person; OR, have researchers over the years combined two people into one individual that has then been perpetrated by copying details from other family trees. If anyone can show me documentation that demonstrates these two men are the one person, I would love to hear from them.

Hi Pip,

I'm not sure you received my original reply to your private message, but I've now added the summary of why I think it is plausible that they are one and the same person into a research note section. I too would love definitive answers. I'm also hoping more DNA hints turn up - do send any interested descendant along to Ancestry.com for DNA testing, it's the best place to start testing :)
