William Blackeby left from London aboard the Barque Clara, with his wife, Ann Elizabeth Hare (aged 29 at the time). Sadly their baby, Frederick John who was 11 months old died at sea - he died of dysentry (on 23rd November 1858). William's occupation was noted as agricultural labourer and shoemaker and his age as 23.
William's parents, Daniel and Charlotte (47 years of age on the ship) were also on the ship with them along with his sister, Sarah who was 21 at the time. She was listed as a housemaid. Daniel who was 46 at the time was listed as a labourer and shoemaker.
Their residence was listed as Hackney, Middlesex on the ships list. [4][5]
